SARX BULLPUP MODULAR PAINTBALL RIFLE

The SAR-X modular bullpup rifle was designed specifically as a compact globally focused LEO-MIL interdiction/ intervention weapon.  Not to forget our roots, we wanted to develop a rifle platform that could be multi role; working within both LEO-MIL operations and civilian precision paintball markets. 

DESIGN

It has been our desire to bring a bullpup to the paintball market since company inception; however, deep thought had to be given about mechanical placement of critical systems.  Whether a bullpup or traditional rifle layout, a pneumatic rifles biggest design constraint is location of the air system; however, after evaluating locations above, below, and beside the barrel, we opted to locate below.  In addition our cross-platform upper receiver (shared with the original SAR-12/ SAR-12C) has been mounted as far back into the shooters shoulder as possible.  By doing the we reduce the overall length of the rifle to 22 inches tip to butt (12/15 Nemesis barrel), and significantly reduce the cantilever weight found on the shooters off hand.    

When we originally designing the SAR-12 back in 2009, it was designed with a sliding trigger rather than a pivoting trigger found on most rifles.  The reason for the sliding trigger was twofold; first being that we needed the sliding style to actuate the proprietary bolt action assembly sear; and two, we wanted to future proof the design for the mechanics of a bullpup.  The bullpup trigger is pocketed in a channel that sits parallel to the magwell.  The airline is also similarly placed on the opposite side of the magwell.

The air system was designed with an integrated sliding on/off valve.  This allows the user to keep the tank installed semi permanently.  In addition, the access windows allow for the user to inspect tank gauge pressures, along with filling the tank while installed on the marker.
